Nestled next to Lake Washington, Newcastle Beach Park provides the visitor with an abundance of recreational opportunities. The nature trail, located in the wetland forest to the south, is a 0.75 mile loop. While hiking here, you may experience the rare sighting of ospreys or bald eagles. The deciduous forest stands tall with cottonwoods, alders, and hawthorns overhead, and salmonberry and Indian plum below. The soft-surface trail offers glimpses of Lake Washington, and wildlife is abundant with birds and small animals running through the underbrush. When the hike is over, the beach is a perfect place to cool your feet.
