This morning at 5:41 a.m. Bellevue firefighters were dispatched to reports of a fire at a south Bellevue apartment complex in the 14500 block of SE 24th Street.
Engine 2 was first to arrive at the scene. Firefighters located the fire on the first floor apartment and responded to an adult victim within the dwelling. CPR was initiated immediately.
The fire was extinguished quickly, having been contained to a single bedroom within the apartment. The victim was immediately transported to a local trauma hospital by Bellevue Medic 2. There is no update at this time on the patient’s condition.
Investigators have determined the cause of the fire was discarded smoking materials. Initial estimates place the total damage at $10,000.
