For the first time, pedestrians and bicyclists in Bellevue and the Eastside will have a connection to and from Seattle via the SR 520 Bridge. The state Department of Transportation will open the new SR 520 Trail across the bridge at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20.
The City of Bellevue’s Choose Your Way Bellevue program will host a booth starting at 3 p.m. Located on the trail next to the Evergreen Point Bridge Park and Ride in Medina, riders and walkers can stop by for free hot drinks and souvenirs. More information.
In addition, Cascade Bicycle Club is leading a bike ride from Bellevue across the bridge. Riders will leave at 4 p.m. from 600 106th Ave. NE downtown. Registration and other information is available on Cascade’s website.
