The City of Bellevue has launched an initiative to support community-driven programs that activate public spaces in Bellevue and provide creative, fun and engaging experiences for Bellevue community members.
With a total of $150,000 in available funding, the 2025 Community Programming Fund offers up to $100,000 for multiple projects along the Grand Connection corridor – between Meydenbauer Bay Park through downtown Bellevue, across Interstate 405 to Eastrail – and up to $50,000 for activities in other public spaces throughout the city.
Project applications for up to $15,000 each can be submitted through July 28 or until funds are exhausted and should emphasize programs and small events that bring community members together in outdoor public spaces, such as plazas and parks. Examples of space activations include live music, vendor fairs, performances and pop-up installations.
“The Community Program Fund will support the city’s goal of fostering vibrant, inclusive and connected public spaces where people can come together,” said Mayor Lynne Robinson. “From live performances to cultural celebrations, markets and more, these activities can transform Bellevue’s public spaces into lively places that reflect the community’s creativity and diversity.”
Applications for the 2025 Community Programming Fund opened on April 1 and will be reviewed in waves starting on April 14 and running through July 28, or until funds are exhausted. Individuals, nonprofit organizations, small businesses and community groups proposing programs that will support the city's goals in activating public spaces and engaging the Bellevue community are all encouraged to apply.
