Downtown Bellevue is returning to normal. Northeast 8th Street is clear after earlier partial blockage.
Still closed is Bellevue Way Northeast, from Northeast Eighth to Northeast 10th Street.

At this time, approximately 200 protestors remain on scene.
The Northeast Eighth St. entrance to the hotel remains blocked.

Avoid the area near the 10700 block of Northeast Eighth and Bellevue Way Northeast due to a small group of protestors blocking traffic.
The NE Eighth Street entrance to the hotel, where the Washington Policy Dinner is taking place in which U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is giving the keynote, is also blocked.

The crowd at the rally is now dispersing. At this time, traffic impacts are minimal.
Bellevue Way Northeast, from Northeast Eighth to Northeast 10th Street, remains closed.

Rally is underway in downtown Bellevue in front of Hyatt Regency Bellevue along Bellevue Way Northeast. At this time, there are approximately 1,000 people at the peaceful event.

Bellevue Way Northeast, from Northeast Eighth to Northeast 10th Street, closed in both directions at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon for a scheduled rally. This road closure is expected to remain in place until 8:30 Friday night.
Crowds are beginning to gather for the rally that's organized by the Equity in Education Coalition. The rally's scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

The public is advised to allow for extra time to get around downtown Bellevue on Friday, Oct. 13. Bellevue Way Northeast, from Northeast Eighth to Northeast 10th Street, will be closed in both directions, 4-8:30 p.m., due to a planned protest.
The counter rally, organized by the Equity in Education Coalition, is scheduled to take place outside the Washington Policy Center’s annual dinner at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue. U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is the keynote speaker at the dinner.
The Bellevue Police Department will have extra officers on duty during the event.
