On Monday, December 1, at approximately 6:05 a.m., Bellevue Police responded to a report of a traffic crash near the intersection of 150th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 38th Street. Officers arrived and found a 77-year-old woman who had been struck and fatally injured by a vehicle in the roadway.
The driver of the vehicle is an 18-year-old Bellevue resident and is cooperating with investigators. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this collision. Bellevue Police are investigating this collision and have closed northbound 150th Avenue Southeast to conduct the investigation.
"This crash is a good reminder for people to wear visible clothing when they are out walking. Bright clothes make you more visible to motorists, and reduce the chance of a crash," said Lt. Marcia Harnden.
