Bomb cyclone storm impacts

A bomb cyclone windstorm lashed Bellevue the night of Tuesday, Nov. 19, bringing down trees throughout the city and leaving hundreds of thousands without power. Cell phones across the nation will start buzzing simultaneously on Wednesday, Oct. 3, around 11:20 a.m. Pacific time, as FEMA tests its national emergency alert and notification systems.

The test message will have a header that reads “Presidential Alert” and text that says, “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
