Northup Way will be closed over the Aug. 13-14 and Aug. 20-21 weekends between Northeast 24th Street and Northeast 33rd Place to make way for installation of new detention pipes. However, during the closure, businesses will be allowed access in the construction zone. All other drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists will need to follow the designated detour routes.
On both Fridays before the closures, Aug. 12 and 19, drivers will encounter one-way alternating traffic from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Expect traffic delays. Northup Way will then be closed in both directions from 7 p.m., Aug. 12, to 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 15, and from 7 p.m., Aug. 19, to 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 22.
Additionally, 106th Avenue Northeast will be closed in both directions between Northeast Fourth and the California Pizza Kitchen driveway near Northeast Sixth Street from 6 p.m., Aug. 12, to 6 p.m., Aug. 14. Construction crews will be disassembling and removing the tower crane at the Centre 425 development project. Drivers will need to use another route; however, the sidewalk on the east side of 106th will be open.
