Lanes on Northeast Eighth Street near 132nd Avenue will be closed for two to three weeks starting April 22, so the city can replace a sewer pipe under the street.
Last year the city replaced the failing Kelsey Creek culvert under Northeast Eighth Street. The eight-inch sewer pipe installed as part of that project has settled, so contractors must dig up and reinstall the pipe.
Traffic control measures will be in place. Traffic on Northeast Eighth will be reduced to one lane in each direction during the construction. A full, one-lane asphalt overlay will be done immediately following the underground portion of the work.
A bus stop will be relocated during construction. Please travel safely through the construction zone.
Additional information about the project is available at Kelsey Creek Culvert. For questions, please contact James Nicolls, the engineer on the project, at 425-452-2869 or jbnicolls@bellevuewa.gov.
