All southbound lanes of Interstate 405 will be closed downtown Sunday, Aug. 11, through 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 12, so Sound Transit contractors can remove support structures used in the construction of the East Link guideway over the freeway. All northbound lanes of I-405 will be closed downtown Sunday, Aug. 18, through 5 a.m. Monday. Aug. 19.
Plan ahead, expect delays and know you can access Bellevue. The city offers closure and alternate route details. General information about the closures, including closures of off-ramps to downtown are as follows:
Southbound
- From Friday at 10 p.m. through Saturday night at midnight (Sunday morning) southbound I-405 ramps in Bellevue will be closed. Traffic will need to use ramp detour routes during this time.
- From Saturday night at midnight (Sunday morning) through Monday at 5 a.m., all southbound lanes will be closed. To minimize impacts to drivers, southbound I-405 traffic will need to use the collector-distributor street at exit 13B as a bypass route during this time.
Northbound
- From Friday at 10 p.m. through Saturday night at midnight (Sunday morning) northbound I-405 ramps in Bellevue will be closed. Traffic will need to use ramp detour routes during this time.
- From Saturday night at midnight (Sunday morning) through Monday at 5 a.m., all northbound lanes will be closed. To minimize impacts to drivers, northbound I-405 traffic will need to use the collector-distributor street at exit 13B as a bypass route during this time.
