Sound Transit’s contractor will close all lanes of Bellevue Way Southeast between the "Y" at 112th Avenue Southeast and Interstate 90 starting at 5:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, through 9 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 5. All ramps between Bellevue Way Southeast and I-90 will be also be closed.
Local access will be maintained to all residential driveways along Bellevue Way Southeast. Emergency access will be maintained. Commuters are asked not to drive through neighborhoods to reach their destination. Drivers can detour to I-90 and I-405 via 112th Avenue and Southeast Eighth Street. For the week of Nov. 6-10, weekday and daily/overnight lane closures will occur as needed on Bellevue Way. See details in Sound Transit’s Nov. 1 construction alert.
There will be no weekend closure Nov. 11-12. A final weekend closure for this utility relocation phase of the project is planned for Nov. 18-19.
Phase 2 of construction to build the guideway adjacent to Bellevue Way Southeast is expected to begin in January. The maintenance of traffic plan allows for this work to take place on 10 weekends during 16 months. No full closures are anticipated during this phase of construction.
During the weekend work, the contractor is allowed to work 7 a. m. to 9 p.m.; Bellevue Way will be reduced to one lane each direction. During weekdays, Bellevue Way will maintain two lanes in the peak direction during peak commute times:
- Two lanes in the northbound direction in the a.m. with one southbound lane open
- Two lanes in the southbound direction in the p.m. peak with one northbound lane open
City paving on 112th Nov. 5
The City of Bellevue's paving contractor is planning to pave the northbound curb lane of 112th Avenue Southeast from Southeast Eighth to Main Street on Sunday Nov. 5. Work is expected between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
